Offerings
Step away from the fast-paced world into a slower, intentional space of deep self-care and emotional regulation. Hosted at the wholesome, family-run North Norfolk Riding Centre in Little Walsingham, these unique 90-minute sessions blend the gentle energy practice of Usui Reiki with guided compassion healing.
Whether you are a seasoned rider or simply want to be around horses more, this nature-based sanctuary offers the perfect environment to unwind, reset, and recharge. Here, the ponies and horses are valued as true partners, teachers, and sentient beings, sharing their yard with ducks, chickens, and wild birds in a peaceful, thriving community.
Horses are highly perceptive, socially sensitive animals that naturally respond to human emotional and physical states. While the therapeutic experience offers a powerful sense of connection and energy flow, scientific research attributes the deep relaxation felt around horses to human-animal interaction and emotional co-regulation. Spending time in their presence promotes somatic grounding, lowering stress levels and helping your nervous system find a natural state of peace.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a holistic complementary therapy and Japanese energy practice that can be received in person or through distant healing. Japanese energy healing practice. The word “Reiki” comes from the Japanese words rei (universal) and ki (life energy) referring to the natural energy believed to flow through all living beings.
Reiki is a gently energy healing practice that supports relaxation, emotional wellbeing, stress relief and inner balance. Horses energy field is much larger that us humans and they have an incredible natural ability to co-regulate our human feelings and relax the nervous system. Because equines are highly empathetic, they support a space of peace and open-hearted compassion, which can help humans to relax.
What to Expect During Your 60-Minute Session
The Beginning (Exploration): We open a friendly, welcoming space to discuss what Reiki is and is not. Together, we will gently explore where you find yourself getting stuck when it comes to self-compassion.
Middle - I will take you through a guided self-compassion meditation practice designed to your unique personal experience while spending time standing with the horse or pony chosen for your session. This will help you to maximise your ability to stay open and receive the Reiki healing.
Using Reiki practices, I will encourage the flow of energy and support the body’s natural ability to restore. You will either sit or lay down in a comfortable position. The horse or pony present will remain in its tied position.
End - we will take time to feedback and plan together how you can build on your experience going forward. Recent projects include setting up the award winning Steps to Wellness service in Southern Health and Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland. It is the first talking therapies aligned service in Northern Ireland as I worked as part of a small East London NHS Foundation Trust consultation team.
I help with common mental health issues using proven methods recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). Research shows that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) works best for conditions like depression, body image issues, general anxiety, health anxiety, long-term health problems affecting mental health, OCD, panic disorder, PTSD, social anxiety, and specific phobias.
CBT helps you to understand your main problems by looking at beliefs and habits you've learned over time. For example, you might think, "People won't like me unless I'm perfect," or "People can't be trusted." These beliefs stay quiet until something triggers them, like failing goals, relationship issues, or health problems. Then, they cause negative thoughts and behaviours, making you feel anxious or depressed. CBT focuses on these current thoughts and actions that keep your problems going. Using compassion-focused techniques and imagery rescripting, we can update negative memories without focusing too much on the past. CBT is practical and goal-focused.
Depending on the primary problem, I integrate advanced CBT approaches as relevant including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Functional Analytical Psychotherapy (FAP), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Mindfulness. I am a member of the Association for Contextual & Behavioural Sciences.

Progress is tracked with goals and questionnaires throughout.
